About the Faculty

   

Aims

  • To promote the professional and scientific work of members of the Division with an interest in people with physical health problems and disability

  • To foster effective clinical services to people with physical health problems and disability, their families and carers

  • To promote awareness of good clinical practice, current research, and service issues, through study days accessible to psychologists of all levels of experience

  • To provide an advice and support network which is easily accessible to individual psychologists working in the field of physical health and disability

  • To disseminate psychological knowledge about the needs of people with physical health problems and disability, and services required to meet their needs

  • To advise on training of psychologists at all levels and training of other professionals working with people with physical health problems and disability

  • To advise other relevant organisations/bodies about the psychological needs of people with physical health problems and disability and the services required to meet these needs

  • To advise the Society and Division on matters related to physical health and disability

  • To facilitate the development of local groups in pursuit of the aims of the Faculty
